Appropriate Swimwear Policy
Appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times to maintain a clean, safe and inviting environment for all our patrons. Clothing, other than swimwear, can create problems with water clarity, pool disinfectant and our water filtration systems.
Mackay Aquatic and Recreation Centre offers a wide variety of features ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy, including the 50m swimming pool, a shaded 25m pool, and shaded and heated learn to swim pool pleanty of grassed areas for the kids.
50m Swimming Pool
The Mackay Aquatic and Recreation Complex's 50-metre pool is a FINA accredited pool, and offers numerous swimming options catering to swimmers of all abilities. The depth of the pool is 2m at the deep end.
25m Pool
The 25m Pool is designed for our Learn to Swim program, therapy, rehabilitation, exercise, relaxation and more.
The pool depth ranges from 1.2m at the shallow end to 1.4m at the deep end.

Warm Water Programs Pool
The Warm Programs Pool is designed for our Learn to Swim program, therapy, rehabilitation, exercise, relaxation and more.
The pool depth ranges from 0.9m at the shallow end to 1.1m at the deep end.
